Handling maiden and married names

Modified on Fri, 24 Apr at 3:27 PM

Oho expects each person to have one active surname. For workers who have accreditations under both a maiden name and a married name (for example, someone in the middle of a name change transition), the recommended approach is to create two separate person records:

  • Person 1: Mary Jo "Married Surname" (Maiden Surname)
  • Person 2: Mary Jo "Maiden Surname" (Married Surname)

Attach the relevant accreditations to each record. Those issued under the married name to record 1, those still under the maiden name to record 2. Using the suffix brackets to note the other surname on each record helps with identification.

Both records will appear in your People list until the accreditations are fully updated and the old record can be deactivated.
