QLD Blue Card — linking vs ongoing verification

These are two different things and can be confusing.

Adding a QLD Blue Card to a person (ongoing verification):

• Required number format is seven digits, a forward slash, then one or more digits representing the issue cycle (for example 1234567/3)
• The suffix after the slash is mandatory and changes with each renewal cycle
• Once the card is added with the correct format, Oho verifies it on its usual cycle up to every 7 days

Linking a QLD Blue Card to the organisation:

• Linking registers the card against the organisation in the QLD portal via QDI
• Linking uses the card number and date of birth to find a match. If the date of birth is wrong, linking will fail even though the card itself may be valid in the portal
• Ongoing verification works without linking. Linking is only required to receive direct notifications from the QLD portal about status changes between Oho's verification cycles
