Oho verifies Working with Children Checks against the relevant state government portal on a recurring cycle, up to every 7 days. This means:
- Any change to a worker's accreditation status (for example a suspension or revocation) is detected by Oho at the next scheduled verification run
- The maximum time between a status change occurring and Oho detecting it is 7 days
- Oho notifications are triggered when Oho detects the change at verification, not at the moment the state register updates
- You may receive a government notification before Oho alerts you, because some states send direct notifications to the worker or employer independently
This 7-day cycle is significantly more frequent than the periodic manual checks used by many providers, but it does mean there's a window of up to 7 days where a status change may not yet be reflected in Oho.
